10 Tips to Help You Drive More Traffic to Your Website
We all want more people visiting our website. The more traffic we have the more sales we get. So with this in mind here are our 10 quick tips to help you drive more traffic to your website from the team at Choose Purple.
1. Get blogging
Blogs are a great way to send traffic to your website. Create blog posts that give solutions and advice to your potential clients and then get them out there. As soon as someone clicks on that post you have them on your website.
From there it’s important to develop a clear plan to engage those visitors which could include call to actions, discreet pop ups, live chat or freebies.
2. Get social
Every business needs to be on social media. It doesn’t matter what you do, your audience or at least some of them are on social media.
So whatever platforms you utilise use them to engage your audience and drive them to your website with high quality content.
3. Don’t forget email marketing
Email is still a powerful marketing tool. It’s important you don’t bombard people with email after email but put together well thought through emails that are engaging, interesting and full of helpful advice.
Make sure email marketing is not all about selling but mixed with interesting content, then you can sit back and watch your website traffic spike every time you send out an email.
4. Optimise your website
With the whole world seemingly talking about paid advertising and how it can work for your business, it’s wrong to ignore what organic SEO can also do for your business. It’s a sensible plan for every business to maximise their website for organic search.
The challenge with paid advertising, is that the traffic you drive to your website only lasts as long as you feed the metre. Stop paying and the traffic decreases.
With organic search, the user is looking for you, or at least what you sell and when they find you there is more chance they will do business with you.
So if your website is not optimised then it’s time for a rethink.
5. Paid promotion
In saying all the above, you may want to quickly drive some traffic to your website or have a special promotion you want to run and paid ads is perfect for this.
Whether Facebook advertising or Google Ads, these can be the ideal solution when it comes to driving lots of traffic to your website.
6. Guest blogging
When done well guest blogging (like this blog) can be of real benefit to your online presence.
When guest blogs are done on reputable websites it can increase your traffic and bring exposure to you and your business.
7. Share your content
There is no point producing good content and then not getting it out there. Many people make the mistake of creating content and then sharing it once thinking the job is done.
Every piece of content you produce needs to be maximised. So if it’s a blog post, share it when you first create it. Share it in appropriate Facebook and LinkedIn groups and on your own platforms. Then share it again a few days later, a week later and then over coming months.
8. Utilise analytics
The amount of businesses that we speak to who don’t have any data on the effectiveness of their website seriously astounds us. Without the facts you cannot fully analyse if your website is actually working for you.
Make sure Google Analytics is installed on your website and monitor it on a monthly basis to review how it’s working for you and then make appropriate changes based on those results.
9. Join Facebook and LinkedIn groups
There are literally thousands and thousands of Facebook and LinkedIn groups out there based on industry, location, interests and many other factors. These groups can be a powerful tool when it comes to interacting and engaging with potential clients and sharing your content.
It’s not advisable to go into these groups and just sell what you do, but if you find some good groups, start to engage and build relationships then these will become useful tools for your business.
10. Start a Facebook group
Why not go one step further and start your own Facebook group? We did and you can find it here. It’s super easy to do and some people have built very successful businesses through Facebook groups.
